Welcome–Parents, Families, and Friends!

Texas A&M University students work very hard to obtain their degrees.  Without a doubt parents, families, and friends help support our students along their journey to receiving a diploma.  Which means not only are these ceremonies meant to congratulate and honor our new graduates, it is also a event to be shared with those who have helped them along the way. 

Please note, a Clear Bag Policy will be in effect for all commencement ceremonies at Reed Arena.  The only non-clear bags permitted are small clutch bags (with or without a strap) that are the size of a hand.  Exceptions will be made for medically necessary items after proper inspection at designated areas. 

The ceremony will conclude with a recessional, during which the graduates will be directed to exit Reed Arena from the southwest to meet their guests outside. Once out of the facility, there will be no re-entry for graduates or guests.
 

Reed Arena – The doors to Reed Arena will be opened for guests at least one hour before the start of each ceremony. Saving seats inside ceremony locations is not permitted.  Seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Large groups may want to arrive earlier to find seats together.  Graduation ceremony locations are ADA compliant. Please refer to Parking and Special Accommodations for further details.

Reed Arena – Although the length of each ceremony varies with the number of graduates, it is best to plan for up to three hours. Although visitors may leave the viewing area at any time, graduating students and their guests are requested to respect the other graduates by staying during the entire ceremony. Graduates leaving the ceremony early will have to leave their diploma(s) with an usher at the exit.
