Commencement Ceremony Dates

Texas A&M University - College Station

The Office of the Registrar is responsible for ensuring the number of graduates at each commencement ceremony results in ceremonies of reasonably equal duration. Consequently, the determination of which colleges will graduate at which ceremony is typically not established until the seventh or eighth week of classes. Please refer to the Academic Calendar for this deadline.


Thursday, May 11 

Degree candidates are asked to arrive 45 minutes before their ceremony near the North Entry of Reed Arena. They will begin line formation 30 minutes before the ceremony.
 
  • 9 a.m. - Reed Arena
    • Graduates and Undergraduates in Mays Business School
  • 2 p.m. - Reed Arena
    • Graduates and Undergraduates in Liberal Arts (Departments: Communication, Economics, Political Science, Psychology, and Sociology)
    • Graduates in Bush School of Government and Public Service
  • 7 p.m. - Reed Arena
    • Graduates and Undergraduates in Liberal Arts (Departments: University Studies/Women's and Gender Studies, Anthropology, English, Hispanic Studies, History, International Studies, Performance Studies, and Philosophy and Humanities)
    • Graduates and Undergraduates in Science
    • Graduates and Undergraduates in Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences

Friday, May 12

Degree candidates are asked to arrive 45 minutes before their ceremony near the North Entry of Reed Arena. They will begin line formation 30 minutes before the ceremony.
 
  • 9 a.m. - Reed Arena
    • Graduates and Undergraduates in Agriculture and Life Sciences
  • 2 p.m. - Reed Arena
    • Graduates and Undergraduates in Architecture
    • Graduates and Undergraduates in Geosciences
    • Graduates and Undergraduates in Nursing

  • 4 p.m. - Rudder Theatre
    • Doctoral Hooding ceremony for College of Engineering doctoral students.
  • 7 p.m. - Reed Arena
    • Graduates and Undergraduates in Education and Human Development

Saturday, May 13

The procession of students into Kyle Field will begin at 8:45 a.m.  Therefore, degree candidates are asked to arrive and be lined up by 8:30 in the Indoor Track Facility. Signs will be available to direct students to the appropriate location. 
 
  • 9 a.m. - Kyle Field**
    • Graduates and Undergraduates in Engineering
** Based on weather forecasts for Saturday, May 13th, a determination will be made on Wednesday, May 10th on the status of the College of Engineering commencement ceremony at Kyle Field.  If it is determined that the forecasted weather is severe enough to necessitate a change in venue, the College of Engineering commencement ceremony will be split into two ceremonies and held at Reed Arena on Saturday, May 13th.  In this event, information will be posted to the graduation website and graduating students will be notified via email with details of the change of venue.

Friday, August 11 

Degree candidates are asked to arrive 45 minutes before their ceremony near the North Entry of Reed Arena. They will begin line formation 30 minutes before the ceremony.
