Applying for Your Diploma

Application for Degree

Undergraduate and graduate students planning to graduate at the end of the current semester may file applications for degrees online. The deadline is listed below. This online application system will be accessible 24 hours a day, every day, until the final deadline.

The application for degree requires payment of the $47.50 diploma fee.

Students who are permitted to apply after the initial deadline will be charged an additional $50 late application fee per degree. Late applicants may not receive their diplomas on graduation day due to the length of time needed for printing. Arrangements will be made for these diplomas to be picked up or mailed.

The Office of the Registrar at (979) 845-1089 also handles orders for copies of diplomas awarded in the past.


Application Deadlines

The application dates for future semesters are subject to change.

Spring 2013

All undergraduate and graduate students planning to graduate May 2013 must apply for graduation online at https://howdy.tamu.edu beginning January 2, 2013 on the My Record tab. The application deadline is 11:59 p.m. February 15, 2013 for graduate and undergraduate students who will complete requirements in the spring semester. All students planning to graduate in May should apply by February 15, 2013 to ensure having a diploma at commencement. Submitting the completed graduation application will add the $47.50 graduation fee to your account. Applications submitted after February 15, 2013 will be assessed a $50 late fee to your account for a total of $97.50 per degree.

Late applications to graduate will not be accepted after 11:59 p.m. April 30, 2013. If you miss this deadline, you must apply for August graduation.

Per Student Rule 14.2, degree candidates must be enrolled in or have completed all degree requirements by 5 p.m. April 2, 2013 either in residence at Texas A&M University or at another college or university. Proof of enrollment in courses at other institutions must be provided to the Degree Audit Office by April 2, 2013 to participate in May 2013 commencement.

Students who have not cleared financially with the Office of Student Business Services (979-845-8127) will not receive a diploma at graduation.

Summer 2013

Students planning to graduate in summer 2013 may begin filing applications for degrees on May 15. The filing deadline for students completing degree requirements during the summer is July 12.
