Applying for Your Degree
You must file an application for degree before you can graduate.

Application for Degree
All students planning to graduate at the end of the current semester may file
applications for degrees
The deadline is listed below.
This online application system will be accessible 24 hours a day, every day, until 11:59pm on the 60th class day of the fall or spring semester, or the 15th class day of the
second summer term. After that time, students must apply for graduation in the Office of the Registrar.
A diploma fee of $47.50 is assessed for each graduation application submitted by students in all
colleges EXCEPT, College of Dentistry, Irma Lerma Rangel College of Pharmacy, College of Medicine,
College of Nursing, and School of Public Health (which are assessed a $100 graduation fee).
Students who are permitted to apply after the initial deadline (see academic
calendar) will be charged an additional $50 late application fee per degree. Late applicants may not receive their diplomas on graduation day due to the length of time needed
for printing. Arrangements should be made for these diplomas to be picked up or mailed.
The Office of the Registrar at (979) 845-1089 also handles orders
for copies of diplomas awarded in the past.
All students planning to graduate summer 2016 must apply for graduation online at
https://howdy.tamu.edu beginning May 18, 2016 on the My Record tab.
Graduation applications submitted after July 11, 2016 will be assessed a late fee EXCEPT, College
of Dentistry, Irma Lerma Rangel College of Pharmacy, College of Medicine, College of Nursing, and School of Public
Health. Students requesting a name change for graduation related purposes must complete a name change request before
July 20, 2016. The online application will be open through 11:59 p.m. July
26, 2016. Applications submitted after that date must be submitted in the Office of the Registrar. The
application deadline is August 8, 2016 for students who will complete requirements in the summer semester.
Graduation applications will not be accepted after 5 p.m. August 8, 2016. If you miss this deadline,
you must apply for December graduation.
Per Student Rule 14.2, degree candidates must be enrolled in or have completed all degree requirements by 5 p.m.
July 26, 2016 either in residence at Texas A&M University or at another college or university.
Degree Requirement Verification in courses at other institutions must be provided to the Degree Audit Office by July 26,
2016 to graduate in August 2016.
Students who have not cleared financially with the Office of Student Business Services (979-847-3337) will not receive a
diploma at graduation.
Students planning to graduate in December 2016 may begin filing applications for degrees on August 17, 2016. The filing deadline for
students completing degree requirements during the fall 2016 term is September 30, 2016.
Students planning to graduate in May 2017 may begin filing applications for degrees on January 4, 2017. The filing deadline for
students completing degree requirements during the spring 2017 term is February 17, 2017.
