Guest Information

Commencement ceremonies will be held in the Reed Arena (campus map). There are many parking spaces available near the arena (traffic and parking maps).

Seating

The doors to Reed Arena will be opened for guests two hours before the start of each ceremony. Seating is available on a "first come, first served" basis. Large groups may want to arrive earlier to find seats together. In recent semesters there has been adequate seating for all guests, although some guests who arrive as the starting time approaches may have to sit in upper or corner sections. Editor's Note: Typically "excellent" seating can be found at least 45 minutes early, "good" seating can be found at least 30 minutes early.

Unless otherwise noted on the Date & Speakers Page, tickets are not required for guest admission.

Ceremony Length

Although the length of each ceremony varies with the number of graduates, it is best to plan for at least three hours. Although visitors may leave the viewing area at anytime, graduating students and their guests are requested to respect the other graduates by staying during the entire ceremony.

Other Viewing Options

The ceremonies are carried live on Texas A&M's television station KAMU Channel 15. The broadcast may be viewed from the comfort of an apartment or hotel room. Also, you may purchase a video (VHS or DVD format) from KAMU of any of the ceremonies.

Overnight Lodging
