Spring 2002 - Graduation Dates & Speakers

Commencement ceremonies for the spring semester of 2002 were held May 10-11. The ceremonies were conducted in Reed Arena except DVM graduation as noted below.

The Office of Admissions and Records has announced the following schedule for the ceremonies:

Friday, May 10, 9:00 a.m.
Speaker: Ms. Karen P. Hughes, Counselor to the President, The White House (Speech Transcript)

  • Undergraduates in Liberal Arts
  • Undergraduates in Science
  • Undergraduates in Veterinary Medicine

Friday, May 10, 2:00 p.m.
Speaker: The Honorable Kay Granger, U.S. Congresswoman

  • Undergraduates in Architecture
  • Undergraduates in Education
  • Undergraduates in Dwight Look College of Engineering
  • Undergraduates in Geosciences

Friday, May 10, 7:00 p.m.
Speaker: Dr. Larry R. Faulkner, President, The University of Texas at Austin

  • All doctoral degrees
  • All master's degrees

Saturday, May 11, 9:00 a.m.
Speaker: Mr. Clay S. Johnson, Assistant to the President for Presidential Personnel and Deputy to the Chief of Staff, The White House

DVM graduation is Friday, May 10, at 7 p.m. in Rudder Auditorium.
