Note: The dates for future semesters are subject to change.

Five different ceremonies will probably be conducted on the commencement dates. The determination of which colleges will graduate at each ceremony is not expected until late February.

The commencement convocation speaker is usually not announced until within a month of the ceremony.

Graduation Dates & Speakers

May 2010

Commencement ceremonies on the College Station campus for the spring semester of 2010 were held May 14 and 15. The ceremonies were conducted on these days in Reed Arena unless otherwise noted.

Commencement Convocation
Thursday, May 13, 5:30 p.m.
Location: Reed Arena
Speaker: Gen. David H. Petraeus, U.S. commander in the war against terrorism in the Middle East and Central Asia

  • Commencement ceremonies are expected to begin with a convocation that features one notable speaker. The commencement exercises at which degrees will be conferred will follow in subsequent ceremonies on May 14 and 15.
  • Students will not be required to wear academic regalia at the convocation ceremony, but will need to do so at the subsequent actual degree-granting exercises.
  • The Commencement Convocation with keynote speaker will require a ticket for admission. The free tickets, now being dispensed at the MSC Box Office on the ground floor of Rudder Tower, are available to the general public as well as to the estimated 6,000 graduates and their families and friends. Tickets may be picked up while supplies last from the MSC Box Office before they close at 4:30 on Thursday, May 13.
